The Science

Being creative can help a child:-

To become confident with their ability

Messy play can help plan, solve problems and develop concentration as creativity helps to work things out and find solutions.

Messy play can help with physical and mental development. By beginning to make marks they are starting to develop fine motor skills needed for writing. Children will also learn about size and shape if things are heavier or lighter.

Children are being creative when they use materials in new ways and discover things that are new to them. Trying new things out can be risky but this can help children to become more confident with their ability. During this process they can explore, using all their senses especially the sense of touch.

By introducing parent/carer and child to messy play they will be able to see the pleasure that children get and the possibilities for learning. Children will gain so much more if we engage in the process with them. They notice what adults do and can imitate what they observe.

Most of all children learn when they’re having fun and getting messy. We provide a fun and messy environment for you and your child to come and spend quality time to interact together through messy play, thus enabling you and your child to try different activities, which you might not want to do at home.
